Questions on Vortec & TBI

I have some pics of a co-workers 97' tahoe im buying in march. I can't for the life of me figure out why it doesn't have push button 4X4 or that it has the older style air filter atop the motor. It has 120K on it and is super clean. Pics links below:

How sure are we it's a 97?

Motor looks like a TBI...last year for floor shifter was 95. And you don't have a passenger air bag which was first optional in 96 and then included in 97.

looks like a damn nice clean truck tho!

the only vortecs that had that type of air cleaner setup was the Grand Blazers only available in Mexico. But thats for sure not a 97, unless some dumbass changed the motor. haha!

I think that tahoe is 95 and under.
It looks like a TBI like haks mentioned.

It would have to be a 95. Reasons as follows

Motor is a TBI
In 94 2 doors were called blazers not Tahoes
and everything else stated..

yep not a 97 would be a 95

tbi and round dash = 95 tbi and square dash =-94. it is a 95

motor is a dead give away that its 95, because of air filter previously stated and the way the inlet line on the radiator to the block is positioned upward, no to the side like the vortec engine, still a nice truck, deffinite buy, hahaha
