Quick Help with Illumination Wire

on my new DD head Unit i have the Red/ACC and the PAC ROEM-GM21A has a Red/Ignition Switched and an Orange/Illumination Dimmer..

Does the Red/ACC go to the Red/Ignition Switched

Where does the Illumination Wire Hook To..or If at All anywheres...

yeah normally you just match up the colors but i've found on some of the wire harnesses the colors are mixed up or labeled wrong. i usually test the wires in question just to make sure. cheaper to replace a wire harness than a DD head unit. sometimes i don't even hook up the illumination wire. the radio will light up when you power it on. all that wire does is dim the radio when you turn the lights on.

if there is an illum wire on your ddin then you would hook it up to that. if not just cap it off and dont use it.

x2 ^^ some vehicles will dim the radio when you dim the interior/dash lights down. All of the vehicles I've put decks in I never used the illum wire
