does a leaky intake gasket have a "tick tick" sound to it? almost like a mild pinging noise?

yes, I am trying to compair the sound to a similar sounds that I know of.

I'm pretty sure when there is a small intake manif. leak you can hear the air leaking out with a "tick tick" kind of sound... at least i think so...

I have a ticking in my truck and I am trying to diagnose it, so I am piggy backing on this thread :D

Spray some carb cleaner around the intake manifold, if you see it disappear then there is a leak.

Intake gasket leak isn't that bad to do, can knock it out in a weekend or less.
