Can anyone tell me where to direct wire my radar detector so it is powered on at engine start-up? Right now I use the lighter socket and it is on all the time.

Thanks in advance!

The only reason I was a little hesitant about the invisicord was that it wasn't fused like the ones that come with the V1 kit... plus you can't wire in a mute button... well easily that is.

EDIT:

Keep in mind that that is the wiring diagram looking at the male end of the plug (the side without the wires)

While I'd be nervous doing this myself, I'm totally gonna pay someone to do it for me when I get a v1, the hell with having the cord in the cig lighter slot.

Seriously, I bought my car, and before I even drove off, I hooked up the invisicord within 2 minutes. No damage to be caused, it's fused from the fuse box.

I have an ****** 9500. i took a regular phone jack and wired it to my mirror. A clean, simple, free mod. just get a volt meter and check which wire to tap into.

I want to bump this, just did it tonight. On a regular phone cord you can cut the black and yellow outside wires, red on phone cord goes to pink on connector and green on phone cord to the black wire on the mirror side. Pink and black wires are side by side in the mirror connector. Works great, be sure to find the pinning ends or a good taps. This was for my ****** Redline.
