Rain Sensor and Adaptive Cruise Control Not Working

I can understand that but I do not believe any water was making its way to the center of this windshield. I used a flashlight to investigate and you could see streaks where the water was dripping down the glass, only on the passenger side, somewhat near the airbag and A pillar.

From what I can see the rain sensor should be removable without having to replace the glass. Am I right? The lane keep assist camera is removable as well, as it is held to the glass bracket by a couple of clips.

I'm not going to go about messing with it though, since it is under warranty.

I did investigate on GM Parts Direct and I can't find a rain sensor listed anywhere. I tried searching under rainsense and rain sensor.

By the way, my LCD display only illuminates the speedometer with an arrow for cruise control. From what I can tell, adaptive cruise control would have the image of the speedometer but with a small car instead of the arrow. I believe that is the difference. I am not sure why this vehicle would be equipped with lane keep assist and low speed automatic braking but not adaptive cruise control. I wonder what is missing that would otherwise be required for adaptive cruise control?

Agreed let the dealer fix it. My windshield was replaced as part of the repair. My water stains were right in front of me. Have them fix that too.

The windshield was resealed before I bought it in early December. I'll let you know what the result is next week.

Earlier today it was finally time for my appointment at the dealer to evaluate this problem. They were able to "confirm" my symptom and indicated that they found the rain sensor to be internally shorted. Therefore, they ordered another rain sensor and it should be there by early next week.

So, I had to have my vehicle towed in for other issues, which I created a separate thread for. But I am happy to report that the rain sensor was replaced at the same time. The dealership said they tested it and verified that it works now. It will be interesting to see it function during our next rain or snow event.

I do have to say that the rain sensor is pretty neat. In a light mist it was especially handy as the frequency of the wipes was totally automatic. All I had to do was initially set the sensitivity to find an acceptable balance between water on the windshield and how often it reacted. Although there was one time where the windshield was exceptionally dry, and the wipers briefly went in to the highest speed. Not sure why that was.
