Raising Motor Question

I posted a question in the motor mount topic a week ago but no response so I thought I would post it here. I am going to replace drivers side motor mount this weekend.

Where is the best spot to place the jack to raise the engine on 07 Tahoe 4WD. In one of the threads there is a picture of what looks like they placed the jack on rear of the oil pan where the drain hole is?

Any feedback on placement would be appreciate.

Have not done this myself yet but have seen 2x4 turned on end and support front of oil pan and side of block in front of mounts in addition to bellhousing.

Yea, like James said, use a length of 2x4 to spread the pressure instead of just the pad of the floor jack.

Ok so I have found the easiest way I have found. Pull inner fender wells ,if you heat the mount bolts to frame to release the loctite. Sometimes they will break. I loosen both sides,then the side I am working on is the side of the pan I jack up with a small 2by4 but flat. Be careful first if you are using heat always have a fire extinguisher close! Also you can break the pan! Then I use swivel sockets for the block side. I will tread the bolts in just a little bit. Then I go to the other side and replace jack on the side I am replacing. Sometimes you have to remove the starter to get the right side out.
