My o2 sensor was bolt to the right side of the ypipe from the factory, but now the long tubes have the bung on the left side header now. Its plugged off from ******, but im in debate if i should weld in a new bung on the factory side or buy/make a 02 extension wire.. ????:Plugged:

Extensions would be the easiest to do yourself.

If you have a shop do it, just let them weld on a new bung & plug the old one.

6 one way, 1/2 dozen the other kind of thing.

i dont mind welding it myself, but i just dont want to ruin the ceramic coating, thats the main purpose why i bought these. lol

my TBI is a 3wire. some came both ways, 3 wire or 1 wire..
Do they sell a kit to extend the o2 sensor?

never seen a kit, but you should be able to splice in an extension. that or hit up a wrecking yard, pick up one of each end and make a "factory" looking extension.

ive been reading more about these extensions, and supposedly they do make them, but hard to find for the TBI and the 3wire. I also heard not to cut and splice any o2sensor wires, it messes with the signals?

But if i can find the right extension itll be around 30 bucks which isnt terrible. i picked up a brand new ACdelco 3 wire a couple months ago, still haven't installed it because of this problem.

on my 95 with headers i cut the ****** in half and added wire..i never ran into a single issue..its a 350 tbi, it is what it is..its not like your talking about a ls motor with many more sensors...its a single 02 sensor its not going to matter in the scheme of things..i was still pullin 22 mpg with my bagged truck with the extended 02..if you notice a difference, you can scoop the harness for a few bucks from a junkyard and weld a bung in..but save your time to start

just make sure you have good connections so its getting the same ohm load going through..

single or 3 wire o2 Nick??
im going to toss it in the air some more. but what i can also do, right after the header collector im making my own exhaust from that back, so i can always weld in a bung on the passenger side right after the collector (not in the header itself) this way i wont have to fudge up the ceramic and ill just paint the welded bung with high temp so it doesnt rust.. im going to see if the Acdelco o2 is long enough if i did it that way

if you're in a place that doesn't check emissions or what have you for inspection, why not just get some "dummy" o2 simulators? i'm not exactly if that'll be your cup o' tea or not, but just a thought. still love the color of your truck. i saw the pics you had of when it was stripped to s**t and back, you've done a ton of work and put mucho time-o in that thing. sorry i'm acting like your 1-man fan club here. branndon

We have emissions in Ohio, but since i have dealer plates i dont neeeed to get emissions. Dont i need to get a chip burned then for o2 sims? i would really like to get my gas mileage up even know that i know that will never happen..

Haha thanks for the comps. You should see her in my shop right now, interior is completely gutted again, dynamat down on the floors, headliner is getting black suede, im currently sewing up my seats with orange, gray and black suede. doing the door panel inserts black suede, custom center console, lowering kit is being put on (5/7) all brand new shocks and front end parts flip kit and shit, painting some different ground effects, painting my hood again, msd ignition going on, vortec heads with a holley TBI (90lb injectors), different intake, exhaust work is getting welded up, rear end is getting discs instead of drums, hydroboost for my braking, and an ass load more stuff im doing right now..

***** going to look like a whole nother animal come spring time. best part, all work is being done by me.
