Random Parking Assist Off

Not sure if this is the right category but the last couple of days, my parking assist turns itself off. It is intermittent. Sometimes it is as soon as I start my tahoe, when I shift to reverse, or just driving along, I get the notification that park assist is off. The little light on the switch is sometimes dim of blinks when this is going on. Sometimes it is bright like normal. Pressing and holding makes no difference when this is going on. Anyone else have this issue. I searched the forums and I couldn't find anything like my issue. I did clean them off as I did see they were a little dirty but that made no difference. This morning however they functioned like normal.

Cleaning things makes a difference. Can you read any stored codes? Do you have trailer hook up connections? Check those too. Is your parking brake releasing fully?

I have not ran a code reader, I rarely use parking brake. I have never used the trailer hook up connections in the 2 years I have owned it. I will go look at it after work.

Good to see you around again Kenny. My first thought was to check your trailer wiring. It's probably quite dirty. Get a can of air and consider disconnecting the plug and cleaning it further. Any corrosion in there, replace it.

Thanks for all the replies. I did some investigation and I checked my trailer connection and it looked good. I then pulled on the E brake release, I heard a little click but could have been just the handle. The next day the issue remained. So the next time I got into the Tahoe, I fully depressed the E brake and then let it release with a full slam. Now the issue hasn't returned so far. I am assuming that I must have accidentally pushed ever so slightly on the E brake pedal that it engaged something without setting the brake light on the dash. I will update if the issue returns.

Thanks Swathdiver, We are going through management changes here at work so I haven't had much free time as before. Since I did away with my DSL at home, I haven't been online as much at home as before.
