Help, quick!!!! Random stalling. Any thoughts?

Tahoe has been stalling out for the last 3 or 4 days. Stupid me, I told my daughter it was most likley just a brain fart in the Engine Control Module (or whatever it's called nowadays), and I ignored it.

I drove it this morning, and it stalled out on me after about 45 minutes of city driving. Any thoughts?

Doesn't bother me because I seldom drive it anyway, but my 18 year daughter has no experience with losing power brakes and power steering. Could turn into a bad situation. She did OK with the steering, but she thought the brakes had given out totally. She didn't realize you have to stomp the brake pedal three times harder after losing the power boost.

Does stalling out throw any engine codes?

I don't know the number, but a mechanic said it shows the loose gas cap code. But he also said this shouldn't cause it to stall out.

Have you ever cleaned your throttle body?

No. I wouldn't think it needs cleaning yet??? Would this also cause the accelerator pedal to stick? I have something seriously wrong with the drivibility of this car in the last week.

Sounds like an electrical issue.. These vehicles are drive by wire, and you shouldnt have a sticking gas pedal... If its after a significant amount of drivivng, my only guess would be a fuel pump overheating and giving out. Go to a Vatozone or Oriellys and have them scan your codes and post them here..

Drive by wire? Are you sure about that? Seems like they would have more of a sticking problem?

I can't understand what it is right now. Stalls once in a while, not often. Other times it feels like the engine doesn't know you have let off the gas for a second or two. My daughter claims the gas pedal totally got stuck with her one night and she had to turn the key off to undo it.

My dad recently had this issue on his '10 Silvy CC. He took into the dealer and they replaced his Throttle Body under warranty. Apparently GM knows about the issue but does not see a need for a recall.

Do they have a service bulletin out on it?

I don't think so. The information about GM knowing about it is information that some service guy relayed on to my dad.
