So, my understanding is that GM created and produced the Tahoe SS in early 2000. They pulled the designation and badges due to the insurance companies increasing their policy costs on SUV's and the designation of "Super Sport" would drive sales down.
I for one, love the "specialized" designations on an automakers line of cars. It allows them to show them off on the performance side and they mostly look amazing in their steroid form.
The Tahoe was abandoned at birth and renamed "Limited". Shame of a name when you have the performance goodies and suspension of a muscle car. "Limited" to me sounds exactly what it states: limited in power and looks.
Times have changed except GM's willingness to designate a new model Tahoe as a "Super Sport". 15 years later and tired of waiting, I am hell bent on re-birthing the idea of bringing this beast on the road. If anything I will enjoy the looks of others as they scratch their heads and think "when did they make a Tahoe SS?". Well, it was made but scratched due to insurance companies.
I intend to follow the frame-work and look of what GM was intending on the initial model. I will elaborate and exaggerate however on some things. Any ideas on performance ideas? I have a friend doing fabrications on modern day SS ground effects kit and plan on a 2 3 proper performance drop.
I appreciate your feedback -
