Picture of the 2019 on first real highway trip. Pretty impressed with this big vehicle. Look close and you can see some odd stuff, voltage and V4 at this speed.tahoe mpg.jpg

Just a thought about mpg. Some people say that they could care less. Fine but the long view: what is the opportunity cost for the extra cash?
150K Miles $4.00 a gallon fuel
14mpg $42,850 for fuel
20mppg $30,000
$ 15, 000 is a pretty good contribution to a college fund or saving for the next rig.
Cheers
Jim
150k miles will take us 10 years or more to hit, hence gas prices not being too worrisome overall. Most of my cars I change the oil annually because I never come close to even hitting 5k miles in a year. Both my wife and I work from home and I have enough vehicles I could drive a different one each day of the week so it really keeps the miles down on any given ride

As noted in one of the posts, mileage varies with driving habits, and I firmly believe that driving habits have more impact on gas mileage than anything else.

I cannot comment on what my '07 Yukon XL Denali 'should' get for mileage under normal conditions, as I've had my truck tuned (ECM and TCM) for performance using 93 octane gas. This is my fun vehicle, so I never think about gas mileage when driving it, and I drive it hard (except for one circumstance noted below).

I average 10-12 mpg in the city, and 15-16 mpg on the highway, and 18 mpg on the highway when my wife is in the truck with me.

Yep. They even admit it. Seems crazy…cant imagine what changed it. I still wonder if it’s aerodynamics?!
Another small point... Very rarely do petrol vehicles hit the EPA mileage on the sticker, yet with Diesels they most always exceed it....

Did a little bit of towing yesterday with a car hauler and a small car. Round trip was 34.2 miles and returned 15.2 mpg overall. First 17 miles I had the car onboard and got 13.4 mpg using tow/haul mode. 2nd half of trip was just the trailer and did not use tow/haul mode

XL with a 5.3

What is your regular MPG? How far do you get with one tank?

We’ve been dead on consistent at 17.5 average since I put the ridge grappler tires on. It was 18.4 with the stock tires but I only had those about 4K miles.

I filled the tank yesterday and wife has already made 2 short trips so the readout as of right now says it has 425 miles to go.

This is all just trusting the dash readout, I don’t have enough interest to hand calculate
