First off, thanks for all of the information I have found here this far. Digging and rummaging old threads has really been helpful.

My inquiry here is:

I notice everyone likes the Bilstein 5100 shocks front and back. I found some pretty good pricing on them but, noticed that there are two different models for the rear.

The first model is just a standard shock:

The second model has a separate accumulator:

Is everyone using the standard model or are some using the latter?

standard shock is plenty. Extra accumulator if you really want to spend the cash, want to show the extra can off, or have a lot of travel in your shock and need the extra reservoir

Nathan, thanks.

Not looking to spend the extra cash. Want to spend that on other things :)

I like the look but not worth the $$$.

Just wondering which one exactly everyone else was raving about.

The Bielstien 5100HD is the one most people get.

Hmm thinking about getting some for my yukon to make the ride a little softer. It's a lot stiffer now with the 4/3 leveling kit and 22's/33's. Will getting these shocks help make the ride smoother?

Just asking why everyone likes these shocks so much and why everyone gets them? Is it to make the ride smoother or to get more lift?
