I have 2006 Tahoe Z71 and replacing the rear brake pads and rotors and new rear calipers. I'm having an issue with the piece that the pads slide on. There seems to be two different styles. Can anyone help me out with which one is correct?

The top one in the picture came with the new caliper and snaps into place nicely on the caliper. The bottom one holds the new pad nicely but doesn't fit the caliper.

looks like you have to "change " the brake pads... you need the pads that will to the new calipers

Hope that helps

Greetings Jurgen

Obs. coulnd it be... that the Z 71 Option code also comes with upgraded / different brakes ?

Might be my eyesight or an optical illusion, but the new and old pads in your pic do not look like they're the same size / form. Are you certain you got the right pads?

That's just the angle of the picture. When I lay them on top of each other the only difference is the extra tab on the tab

Anyone know why there is a difference? Is it a Z71 vs non Z71 thing? Or just different option?

RWD vs 4WD based on the pads I see on parts sites. I ordered both from Amazon and returned the ones that didn't match (Wagner, which coincidentally amazon's description was spot on, rwd pads fit my rwd.)

Also different size rotors too (perhaps dual piston calipers too) if you've got RPO JL4.
