I think I've posted a thread on this before, but I've forgetten now and one more thread can't hurt ay?! Well I've got my truck blacked out, NO more of that Yucky ass chrome! Except! My rear bumper, its chromealishish, and that's gotta be gone. SO, I don't have the money to pay for a new bumper or a used bumper I'm straight broke. Whats the best way to do it myself and make it black. I can't imagine sanding it but I would there just must be some other way of making paint adhere to chrome.

you could take it to a chrome shop and they will dip it in acid to reverse the chroming process, thus removing the chrome completely (but this is expensive). Or you could just sand it, which is what i did. I never had any paint chip or peeling problems, but your going to want to clear coat it for protection. Just ruff it up with something harsh like 80 grit, move to some 120-200 and then like a 600 to finish it off. Use any kind of bare metal prep with a self etching primer and your good to go.
