get that fixed, thrown the oney at it now and save the headaches in the long run. First thing I did to my suburban which had no isses was rebuild the rear, axles and all

Don't know if it'll help the OP, but I just had the rear end of my Tahoe replaced (axles, bearings, and diff - keep the gears)... Yukon axles and Detroit Tru-trac - $1900 out the door. Assuming you're just replacing the diff, not having to replace the axles, bearings, and gears), you'll come out waaaaay cheaper than I did, and seems like you'd be under $900 for a R/R of the diff alone - unless you're replacing front AND rear.

Yea when i did mine, i bought the true trac, Master rebuild kit, outer axle bearings, 4.56 yukon gears, lifetime warranty plan on gears and that was 900 bucks to my door.
