Did only some 1999 Yukons/Tahoe's 4dr's come with factory rear door speakers? If so, what color are/were the wires?

My lefthand back door has wires, that were spliced from the factory harness, but not the righthand. Both righthand doors have been replaced before (still some white paint visible on the inside). Before I go installing my own wires in the door I thought I'd check first to see what anyone knows about them.

The lefthand door speakers wire connection, if that's what is was for, doesn't work since I connected them to a known good speaker, so I'm not really sure there what came with what.

So I found the wires on the right hand side. I'm thinking it did have them at one time. The wires on the left hand side have the wire leads attached to whatever wires those are.

Alright, so to update, it looks like it did come with speakers. The right hand rear door has sound now as I put a new speaker in with the wires that were there, but not the left. Not sure why. All wires look intact. I put a new CD player in it, and all the wires that I could see that went to the old radio were intact.

My bad for some reason I was thinking you meant on the barn doors :doh2: A trick you could try to find the wires is hook up a 9v and ohm meter.

you will have to trace back all the wires to find the break. do you have a factory amp installed. one of its channels may have failed.

No, I don't have an amplifier or anything like that in it. I might eventually as I do have two old ones and a custom box for my old 1988 Corvette that's collecting dust.

I put the new CD player in though, and now I lost the one rear speaker that did work. I used the plug and play wire harness that the auto parts stores sell.

I'm thinking the loss of that right hand speaker is probably because my CD player only has four speaker wires, so I'll have to locate the factory wires to the rear doors in the factory wire harness and do some splicing.

So what works now is the front two plus tweeters, and the rear 4x10's. I'll try to trace that left hand door wire. Would have to be a break in it somewhere.

four individual wire or four sets? you need a set of two for each speaker. + -. the factory wiring for the right rear door is + tan and - red.

there is a little factory amp under the dash that run the rear door speakers u probobly didn't hook the amp wire up to the remote turn on wire on the new head unit.
