Rear end clicking/tapping sound upon any deceleration (not just braking) - any ideas?

Good morning gentlemen. It's another "what's this noise" thread. The truck in question is a 2001 Tahoe, 4-wheel drive, about 214k on the clock.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6k6WHxCIm8

I know it's kind of hard to hear in the video (it can be heard clear as day from the cab of the truck and by people walking on the street) but it can be heard more clearly after about the 20-second mark.

It's best described as a popping/tapping/clicking kind of noise that sounds like it's coming from the area of the passenger side rear wheel, only occurs consistently from a speed of about 30mph on down when decelerating (NOT just braking). Can be "felt" slightly but doesn't seem to be affecting the movement/performance of the truck like a stuck brake part would.

Occasionally if you don't come to a full stop you can also hear the sound on acceleration but again it disappears around 30-35mph before coming back the next time the truck is slowed down or stopped.

The sound oscillates with the speed of the vehicle, that is, the rate of the click/pop slows down as the vehicle does.

Wanted to take off the mud flap on that side to see if that was the culprit but one of the bolts holding it onto the rear wheel well is stripped, so if that is indeed the culprit I'll probably never know.

Anyone have any other ideas as to what it could be? A brake problem on that wheel? Wheel bearing? Carrier bearing? Axle/suspension issue? I've been hearing this for weeks now, it's been pointed out to me by a fellow motorist AND state police officer on separate occasions, and it's been driving me and my wife nuts.

Thanks for any insight you guys can provide on this. If needed I can try to get a better sound clip unaffected by the legendary Yooper wind.

Without hearing the noise it`s really hard to get an idea what could be the problem.

Maybe you could narrow down the noise by jacking the back of the truck up under the differential and have someone put it in gear while you listen by the wheel.

If it makes the noise on the jack post a video and hopefully someone will know what it is.
