Just got my Yukon a week ago and I'm trying to figure out this noise coming from the rear of my truck. It only happens when I come to complete stop and taking off from a stop it almost feels like my brakes are sticking? If I'm cruising and coast and hit the gas I can't replicate the symptom it's only coming to a stop and taking off. Could it be my shocks? I've been real busy will further investigate this weekend and see if I can't figure it out but if you've had this to and have tips for what I'm looking for would be great.

I would look at the brakes and make sure all components are applying and releasing as they should and doing so smoothly. Year of the rig? I would assume there in Michigan that there is salt on the roads in winter so the front and rear brakes can get corrosion and rust problems causing noises. Need to be sure the friction surfaces are in good even shape and nothing worn in to the metal and all hardware is good and all lube points are clean and lubed. Check anything else while in there. shock mounts, spring mount areas. Etc....

98 gmc Yukon. it feels like it's the brakes grabbing when I'm slowing down around 15 mph I can feel it grabbing and when I take off it feels like it's not letting go right away kinda like dragging but just for a second then goes away.

Exactly. Sounds like the grabbing/pulsation could be from the front brakes caused by pads not backing off the rotors and causing excessive heat and warping the rotors. Pads can hang up for many reasons but the salt is a big contributor. Rear shoes lay against backing plates and they need to move freely against them but salt again can cause problems. The age can allow for the contact points of the shoes against the backing plates to wear a groove in the plate. Hardware and springs wear out and don't want to pull the shoes back when take the foot off the brake pedal. A complete inspection of the front and rear brakes is needed as well as anything else like the shock mounts and bushings and spring mounts and etc.... The rear brakes not working properly can cause stress to the front brakes and vice versa.

When I bought it he said he just did front brakes and it stops pretty well I think we're right and thinking it's the rear brakes since previous owner only did fronts. I just hope it's something cheap and simple

Still inspect the front while there. If the rears have not been working properly the fronts can show a problem slowly or quickly and you want to head it off as soon as you can. If no problems there then you know you are good all around if you do rear brake work.
