Ever since I bought my 2010 Yukon XL Denali I have noticed that every time I slow down and then take off I get a real jolt that seems like it's from the rear end. I don't think it's the tranny because if I put it in manual mode to hold the gear when I slow down it still does it. It really jumps when you give it has, so I have to very carefully give it has when I speed up again.

Also, today, while driving at 50 mph, without slowing down or speeding up, I felt something which felt like I got hit from behind... Pretty strange. Felt like the back end locked up for a second or something.

Any ideas?

My neighbor had his chevy express cargo van doing similar issues but he had it taken care of before any serious issues. The rear end was never torqued down from the factory.

I forgot to mention that this never happens when I first take off from a start, so I don't think it's the slip yoke.

Maybe check to make sure all the rear end hardware is tightened down. It sounds to me like something is sloppy back there from being loose. There are upper and lower control arms holding the rear axle in place.

Also, are you RWD or AWD? I wonder if the problem could lie in a transfer case or front differential.
