Rear Hatch Lights??

Would be nice if Tahoes came with some sort of lights on the rear hatch that shine down when its opened and lifted up. Since they didn't... I figured I put some in myself. I ordered a couple of factory cargo area dome light housings and as soon as they come in I'm gonna install them... I'll post pics when I'm done. Has anyone else had this idea already? Pics??

Not that I know of.. But that would be a good mod to do. I've always wished they came like that from the factory. Keep up updated.. and pics.

i've seen it done. been planning to myself but lazy has won out so far

Here's a few sneak peeks of what I've done so far. It should be completed this evening when I get off work. Just gotta cut out some metal behind the panel for clearance and that's it. I plan on changing out the bulbs to the LEDs as soon as they come in too. That'll make even brighter!!!

Got it finished today. Even with the stock bulbs it adds a lot more light. I like it!!! Pretty simple to do too. Hardest part was running the wires through the rubber boot cause its so dam thin and tight.... Here's some finished pics.
