Rear hatch switch

When I press the rear hatch switch on the dash or keyfob I can hear it unlock but I have to be at the rear window to catch it or it won't open. Is this a latch issue and how do I fix it? New latch?

curios does the glass hold up cylinders do their job okay?

Yeah it holds up fine when it's open.

then i can think of only the window seals are compress for good and dont provide that spring out effect when unlatched. my guess anyway. i can not find a breakdown of the latching mechanism so see if there is a pop-out sprint in it.
