Hello everyone, new to the site. Just purchased a 2002 tahoe and the rear heat/ac doesn't work. The controls up front do not do anything, if I turn it to full blast nothing. It doesn't matter if it is heat or ac, it just doesn't make the system blow any air at all out of the rear vents. The front ac/ heat work just fine. Also, there are no rear controls. The previous owner removed them when he installed a tv in the ceiling. Would the fact that the rear controls are disconnected be any reason for the rear system to not be working? I've read some of the other posts on the site about the rear system, but all I could find were folks that were only getting heat or cold. I get absolutley nothing?

Any ideas as where to start? Could it be the front control unit wires came loose when the installed the tv? Are there any control circuits anywhere that could be bad? I checked the rear ac fuse and it is good. I wouldn't think the fact that the rear passenger controls have been removed could be causing it, but then again I've been wrong before.

ok, just checked the plug to the main rear control unit in the front of the tahoe and everything there is plugged in. I know I read in other threads about a circuit somewhere that is easily replaced that may be the problem. Could somewhere tell me where that is? Also if that is not it, how would I be able to tell if maybe the main control module in the rear where the blower motor and stuff is located is bad or not?

My 2003 Yukon rear air and overhead controls don't work either. Let me know if you get a fix. Might be helpful

I found out when they put the tv in, they disconnected the second row ac control panel. So I went to a junk yard, found a control panel and plugged it back in and it worked. So I turned that control panel switch to allow the front to control it and just wedged it up above the headliner.

Bottom line is the rear ac control panel has to be plugged in in order for the rear ac/heat to work
