So I have been doing many searches on how to fix rear heat so here is what i have, started out buying a new actuator for my hot cold on my 2003 GMC yukon, tore everything part put new actuator in and nothing. Let truck warm up and manually operated dorr and got heat, so i went a step further and tore apart an old actuator and new one put them in removed one of the gears, and what i get is initallly when you turn the key forward both floor and ceiling actuator run for about 6 seconds and then never move again, with any input from ceiling heat control or rear heat control. But every time you turn the key they do run. So would i be correct to say that the controller that is in the back behind the panel is bad? I am really thrown for a loop here and dont know if i need to buy another actuator, or a controller now. Any help would be great, thanks so much.

Hi Mike,
I have been working on my rear heat today as well. I am experiencing the exact same situation you are with the actuators. I was wondering if you have replaced the controller and if it solved the problem. I am trying to find a place to order the controller online now and have set the actuators to provide heat and unplugged them in the mean time. Please let me know if the controller worked for you, where you found one.
Thanks,
Jimmy

Rear Heat Help?

I am having the same problem with my rear heat. Where did you get information about the actuators and how hard is that to fix yourself?

i never did replace the controller, i decided i didnt want to spend anymore money on it, i took apart the actuator and set it so i would have heat through the ceiling and then made sure it was upluged and just left it, actually works really good, i just turn the fan on till it gets to hot, if i run it in auto mode it will slow the fan down when it gets to the tempature that i wanted, i am actually happy with how it works, come summer i will pull the panel apart in the back again and set it up for cold. I have i feeling i would spend at least 300 to get it to work properly 300 bucks saved in my pocket to twice a year set it my self well worth it to me.
