Rear main seal and plate replaced?

I had the rear main seal replaced yesterday. They also replaced the entire plate the seal sits in. They said that it's a good idea. That if you don't it can start leaking again. If that's true, I'm glad for the upgrade. I want it fixed right.

So is that correct?

How much they charged you? I suspect mines is leaking but really not sure.

$700. And another $700 for changing my oil pan gasket. As the front differential has to come out to get to it. ;(
