I have a bad leak and im pretty sure its the rear main. Ive put seal softener and it slowed down but im gonna have to replace it. Are the rear main seals 1 or 2 piece on a 96?

Wrong place,

But its a 1 piece, assuming your talking about a 5.7, pull trans and do it.

I have heard that you can pull the converter bolts, and using a thin wrench pull the flexplate, and get at it but you are dealing with limited space, I've never done it this way, I would just sack up and pull the trans and do it right
