I just bought my first tahoe. It's an 03 slt. My question is about the rear overhead monitor. I replaced the old monitor because the old one was broken but I cannot get any audio to play from it. The tahoe has an aftermarket double din. I'm wondering if it doesn't work because it needs the oem radio? Is there a way i can play the audio from the monitor through the speakers with the current set up. I have a pioneer avh p2300dvd

I removed the radio and found a disconnected harness. I
Does this go to the rear display

I know that PAC audio equipment makes an adapter for the 03-06 GM SUV's with the rear seat video systems. It's model OS-2X . Here's a link: https://pac-audio.com/catalog/radio-replacement/os-2x
The adapter let's you get the audio from the DVD player and connect it to the rear aux input on your aftermarket radio. But it's not exactly cheap. It's actually for retaining onstar, the Bose amplifiers, AND the rear seat video system. I don't know of ANY other harness that will let you retain just the rear seat video system. Maybe shoot PAC an email and see if they have another cheaper module that will work?

The HU should have a headphone or rca audio out. Just run it to the overhead.

You must have an audio input on your head unit so you can play the audio from the overhead video. The PAC RP5-GM11 will also allow you to retain the audio from the the overhead video, but you must have an audio input on your head unit.

Dnt mind my first comment. Do you want to play audio FROM the overhead TO the headunit to come through the vehicle spenders?

The OEM set up takes the audio from the headunit to the overhead, or uses RF to the headphones.

The 2300dvd has a 2 rca audio ins, but no audio out. So you have 3 options;

1) run a rca from the overhead audio output to the headunit input

2) use RF headphones, if the overhead has this built in

3) install a RF modulator on the overhead and play the audio through the applicable radio station frequency
