Is this what I need to replace my OEM rear compressor that has failed?
How difficult is the R&R of this part?

Not too bad of an install. I replaced mine along with my rear shocks...
Here are my pointers:
-the three screws that hold in the compressor are small and will snap off. Mine were rusted too. I just went to the hardware store and bought 3 more self tapping in just a slightly larger diameter. I drilled out the busted off screws.
-the wiring harness gets cut off the old compressor and gets spliced color to color.
-the dryer rebuild kit is easy to do. Have a vise and a larger adjustable pliers on hand. Put the dryer in the vise and use the pliers/channel locks to open the dryer lid(mine was pretty snug).
-the instructions are very good and it is an easy DIY. The most time consuming part was drilling out the snapped screws. (Had to go out and buy some bits for drilling out metal).
