I know I'm probably late to the party, however ...
Do any of you dealership types or electronic guys know if the rearview mirrors in the new Tahoes and/or Yukons with the camera display in them can be installed in our older models (for me specifically a '01 Tahoe). I know some of the onstar stuff is now contained in there too, however I'm just wanting to install the camera and rearview sensors etc and have it displayed in the rearview mirror. I know there are a few generic clip-on aftermarket models available, but I'm hoping for a clean install of a quality product.
I searched the forum and read some of the threads for you guys that have some type of rearview camera set-up, but it seems like it's kind of a gamble on quality and that the screen requires a bit of custom install. I really like the new Yukon I rented today and how the system functioned and looked! Feel free to enlighten me/us with your experiences and/or suggestions.
