Recommendations for a touch screen apple carplay head unit with backup camera function

I went with a "good-enough-for-me" radio. Not that it would be hard to cut a metal brace, but it was nice not having to do that with my Boss Audio Elite. It did not go deep enough to require cutting. It was about 12 F and night time. Cutting the dash brace would have spilled some blood for sure!

Finished outcome with the Metra panel is great. The fit is not perfect. The left side sits a little far away from the dash. But there are no rattles and it’s securely attached. I used black rather than pewter. It looks OEM and clean. Very happy, would buy again in a second.

By the way, I snapped in the OEM 1.5X DIN trim panel that was originally installed to see how it works with the Double-DIN upgrade and yes, you could make it work but it’s not just too narrow top to bottom, it is also too wide side to side. I can’t see spending $200-600 on a head unit and not going with the aftermarket trim panel.

I'm considering an add on unit like this instead of replacing my current Bose components. It sounds fine to me as is but I want wireless Apple CarPlay. My neighbor just installed this in his 05 Land Rover and he loves it. It comes with front and rear cameras too. I am not crazy about reducing my visibility by putting this unit on top of the dash so I may do a custom mount lower on the dash. Anyone else gone this route?
