Hey guys,

I'm looking into refurbishing some plastics on a friends Tahoe and Acura and I'm not really sure how to go about doing this. Also, his running boards have a light dirt stain on them as well as the bumpers. His Acura's window molding someone tried to spray paint back and it didn't work thus why I would like to do something to refurb the molding correctly.

Any help would be awesome!

Thanks

I actually used some black 'Paint for Plastic' about six or seven months ago and mine still look like they came from the factory. Not what you're looking for, but it may be something to try.

Restoring black plastic - use super hot water and soap and scrub brush to take off old residue. Then tc black fusion or back to black..
Depending on the spot, plasti dip may work for moldings and trim

I've been using Mothers Back to Black. Turns out pretty good in my opinion. For the rubber, like door seals, I get this silacone spray made for scuba diving equipment from sports chalet.

Thanks for the help guys! I went to the auto parts store today and got some 'Back to Black' by Mothers and will give it a try. I'll be sure to post some before and after pictures as well. It might have to wait a few days though due to all the afternoon thunder storms we have been getting lately.

I have heard this as well.

But personally, I use Adam's Super VRT dressing. It makes my old chalky looking plastic look BRAND NEW for at least 3-4 weeks after applying it.

Here's a pic with half of my bumper cap treated.
