First off, this for a boat. but since everyone here is really smart, i just wanted to give it a try.

The engine is a GM:

Problem:
The Shifter which connects to the carburetor is working properly.
BUT
Instead of using Wire to open the Throttle body to give gas to the engine,
is there a device (ANY Device) i could use to make it electrical.

I want a smooth throttle response and very responsive, its very critical when your docking your boat to have good control of your throttle, you give to much gas it will crash into another boat.

I was thinking of remote control actuator, the same device REMOTE control Car use to turn the wheel.

This is Call RC. Servos:

i was thinking of removing the cable which connect to the Shifter and Replace it with a Servos

Not sure that really makes sense but are you talking about removing the CABLE operated throttle control linkage and using a drive by wire type control to operate the carb throttle?

If so with EFI you could use a drive by wire set up and mod the drive by wire gas pedal to operate on a servo. But as far as a caberator it would be tuff do to the tension created by the return springs and vacume on the carb blades. You would need a really strong servo. If you watch Mythbusters they use some decent servo setups but I don't know how responsive they are. Maybe tring to mod a drive by wire tb drive motor to the carberator would work by using just the drive motor out of it and making a braket to atach a short throtle cable to and then keep the carb return spring and have the drive motor wind the throttle cable on to a pully and as the drive motor turns back and forth it will move the linkages on the carb and open and close the carb butterflies. If this is even what you are talking about.

Thats way to slow for good control. You need something extreamly fast like the drive by wire TB motor. It has to be able to hit WOT in I think something like half a second. Thats what is going to give quick control because there will be a slight delay from the wirless portion of the controls and if the controller you use isn't extramly fast then it will be a slow respons from the time you make an action and recieve the action at the device. Also with a pully wind you can change the size of the pully to make the respons at the carb faster or slower.

Try replacing your throttle cable or lubing it.
You can also adjust the amount of drag on your controls.

Unless you are in a wicked current or it is windy as hell you should only be in idle when docking.

Have check the hand controls or the shifter on the trans?

x2

You can lube the cable with a special attachment that screws onto one end. You grease through that attachment and it forces grease through the length of the cable.
Might be cheaper these days to just get a new one.

Does your cable make any sharp bends?
