Remote key fob issues

New here. Having some issues with programing remote key fobs. I have replacement remote fob and programed it and it works but when I try to reprogram the old fob, the new fob goes offline and the old one is reprogrammed and vice versa. Cannot get both to stay programed and work. Only one at a time. Am I missing something in the reprogramming sequence? I took both remotes off their own key chain and not matched to their own key if that makes a difference.

Could be that you bought fob that is fob the same number that your original fob its.

Are you programming both at the same time? Pretty sure they need to be done together, in sequence.

How do I check that? is there serial inside when i pop it open?
