Anyone know how to remove this chrome (plastic) piece without damage?

51byM-trdOL._SS400_.jpg

Found a place on Amazon that sells the part but they claim it is stick-on with 3M tape. Mine on my truck has clips - I can see them when I pull on it, but not sure how to remove the whole thing or what else needs to be removed first and how.

I need help, I want to paint it BLACK !!!

Anyone got instructions or know how???

You're probably better off removing the pad and chrome trim and selling them both in one go on ebay ... someone like myself (just bought that combo) will pay good money for them to go with the esky/nali bumper upgrade cause they're pretty rare. Then you can buy the regular un-chromed step pad for half the price. Just double check first that the plain pad will fit the ltz/esky/nali bumper cause I'm not 100% sure that it will.

SS... Im not crazy, just not crazy about chrome!

Only way to get blacked out was LT model. Only way to get the air conditioned seats was LTZ model. My goal -- blacked out LTZ.

Anyone know how to remove the step pad and the chrome piece? Please help.

OKAAAAYYY - since removing the chrome strip to paint it black seems to be too large of a headache for me...

Is there anyone in the Washington DC area with a new black tahoe who would like to trade for my ltz/esky bumber (with the chrome insert).

I am willing to trade if someone is nearby and can do the labor.

Anyone???

It's easier to trade bumpers than, say, throw some black vinyl wrap on it, or tape off the surrounding areas and hit the strip with some paint??

Oh dude, I'm in DC and I just bought a black bumper like yours a few days ago ... talk about bad timing. :(
