Got rid of the plastic lift glass tab for a cleaner look.
There is a foggy spot where the adhesive was that would come off with the general gum/adhesive remover and is bugging me. Will that fade away over time or is there a certain product that I should use? Gasoline maybe?

Does anybody have a fix for this? I just took it off and have the same problem.

It's actually not the residue from the tape, but maybe a treatment that was put on before the tape. Looks like a swipe from a shoe polish type applicator because I can see the perfect circle where it either started or stopped.

Tried 3m eraser wheel, and 3m adhesive remover as well as just scrubbing with a rag and soap and water.

If I can't figure it out, I'll have to put the tab back on! HELP!!!

Steel wool?

Any chance that'll scratch the glass? Maybe brass wool?

I'm wondering if anybody has has this that actually got it off.

DONE !!! Thanks to Blazed for the idea. Used 0000 steel wool and it took it right off.

Not even the faintest hint of scratching on the glass. First, I checked out a window cleaning forum (yes, that exists) and found where they were using it. They also use 000 bronze wool with the same success.

The main difference being that the bronze won't rust after storing for awhile between uses. That is important because iron oxide (rust) WILL scratch glass.
