Hey guys got a quick question. I was a member on here with a 97 2door Yukon. It has been totalled in a hit and run rollover. (No I was not the one that hit and ran) I am now a proud owner of an immaculate 125,000 mile 2000 escalade. I'm trying to plan out my new stereo setup. In the Yukon I had new speakers all around. But couldn't take those out due to not having any to put back in their places... What I did get though was the amp, sub, and head unit. My question is... Can I just plan to leave out the 4x10's in the back? Will it make the car sound bad? I'm planning on running a good quality door coaxial in the rear doors and a good quality component in the front. What are y'all's opinions on not wiring in the 4x10s in the system?

Thanks

Well you have a bose system ? if so it's not 4x10's it's 3 1/2 or 4'' speaker up there i think
you can unscrew that metal plate and the 4x10 plate is under it. with me i didn't use the
back side door spkrs i put spkrs in the barn doors but to choose i would use the rear roof
instead of the rear doors. Glad your here to talk about it
oh!! by the way you just can't add any spkrs to that bose system the ohms of them are
designed for bose system.

I wouldn't be adding speakers. I'm gonna get rid of the Bose system. Just trying to figure out if I wanna get another amp to power the rear speakers. I have a amp that will power the components in the front and the coaxials in the rear. Don't see it to be worth it to buy another amp to power some 4x10s... Thanks for the help so far guys

Could always open the hole up a bit and mount 6x9's in there instead

Well in that case you can use the Bose sub that's in the console but you will need to get a 1 ohm STABLE
300 to 400 RMS @ 1 ohm class d amp to drive it. That sub 1.4 ohms and you will need to run new wiring
To your replacement spkrs. I use a mtx th350-1d for my little wonder Bose sub.

its all personal prefferance if you want 4 or 6 try it out with 6 and then unhook them and see what you like..i have a rockford t400.4 amp powering my four 6.5 infinity kappa components on all four doors and the sounds is soo clean and crisp it all depends on what speakers you have to get a good clean sound

You shouldn't have 4x10s in an escalade. Pull the covers off and you'll probably see an adapter plate with ~4" bose speakers in there.

You could fit some 6x9s or maybe 5.25" speakers with a little work.

If you're completely getting rid of the bose system and have your own 4 channel amp the rear headliner speakers won't make much of a difference unless you like to tailgate with it often. When you're sitting up front the rear speakers just get drowned out by the sub and the point almost straight down too.
The optimal setup would be to have a component system in the front doors and some good quality 6.5" speakers in the rear doors and of course the sub in the back
