removing body from 2dr 2wd frame.

Hey i am trying to figure out a way to remove the body from my tahoe frame. There body is bare except dash. No seats glass or anything like that. I do not have access to a lift or a forklift. So i m trying to come up with a safe way to pick the body up enough to roll frame out from under it.

Do you have a jack, jackstands, some 4x4's or larger? If everything is unbolted / disconnected, jack up each side and set it on some jack stands, then roll it out.

Yes i have all those but 4x4 on top of jack stand will not clear the frame or be tall enough to clear the tires to roll frame out. Ma have to go buy some 2x10 so i can stack them to get the floor stands up higher.

Whatever you decide - just be safe about it! Make sure that body isn't going anywhere.

I've lifted body with big Ass chunks of wood. It's thick lumber and it lifted fine for my 2dr with full interior

Well the 4x4s is how i did it last time on the other one i had but the body was really ruff so i was not worried about it falling. I used concrete blocks and 4x4 and it was all way to sketchy lol. Just looking for a little safer more reliable way.

Well got body off last night. Used a engine jack in the back with a chain to each side of the inner body. Then had a engine jack in the front going in the door openings. Placed a strap under the body and lifted in the middle. The guy who had the tahoe before me tried to remove the body and cut the roll pan in 2 places with about a 4 inch wide slot half way up the roll pan so it would clear the cab mounts since they almost hit the pan. But he never removed the body. So i hope i can get it straight again.
