Any one have any suggestions for removing all of the Denali body moldings? I watched some you tube videos for removing basic body moldings (heat up, remove, then use 3M eraser wheel) pretty much same process?

Also planning on removing running boards. Anything I need to know to make the job easier?

Thanks!

you can use gas to remove the adhesive for the molding much easier and less chance of damaging paint as long as you wash and wax right after

X2. If you do all that no reason to own a Denali !

I suppose the arguement could be made that you would still have the Denali running gear: 6.0L, all wheel drive, suspension...etc. But I'm still curious to hear the reasoning. Personally I freakin love the Nali's... But, to each his own.

Sounds like you have the right process. I did the same thing on my Denali. It'll take some time to cleanup all the adhesive residue. I just kept using the eraser wheel and liquid rubbing compound. I did have some rust on the rear quarters that was uncovered once the cladding was removed. Had to get both rear lower quarters replaced.

I don't care much for the Denali cladding either. But when buying used, can't always wait for the exact one you want. That was my case. I got a great deal and really wanted the 6.0 for towing our camper. So now I just need to swap front ends for the later year Sierra and get me a chrome rear bumper.

Oh...once you have it all removed...put it on CL and recoup a few dollars! Someone will want it!

Had the moldings removed on my 2011 Silverado easily. Went in for a exterior/interior wash and detail. For an extra 50 bucks, they removed the moldings cleaned, light buff, and wax.

I am interested in the stuff depending on location!

I have removed all the cladding and running boards. Denali is white. Everything is 100% intact and functional. I am located in Middle TN (I’ll be in Huntsville, AL) this weekend. Let me know if you are interested.
