Removing Denali body moldings

Sounds like you have the right process. I did the same thing on my Denali. It'll take some time to cleanup all the adhesive residue. I just kept using the eraser wheel and liquid rubbing compound. I did have some rust on the rear quarters that was uncovered once the cladding was removed. Had to get both rear lower quarters replaced.

I don't care much for the Denali cladding either. But when buying used, can't always wait for the exact one you want. That was my case. I got a great deal and really wanted the 6.0 for towing our camper. So now I just need to swap front ends for the later year Sierra and get me a chrome rear bumper.

Oh...once you have it all removed...put it on CL and recoup a few dollars! Someone will want it!

What kind of compound did you use with the eraser wheel? It’s getting 97% of it off, but leaving a thin crusty line. You can see on the pic where I have done the back door and rear panel.

I use Turtle Wax liquid rubbing and polishing compound. Have had great success with those on many polishing projects.

Why chrome rear bumper ?

I'm just old school and like the chrome versus body color bumpers.
