Removing transmission pan

Getting ready to pull the trans. pan and replace filter, fluid, and thermostat. I see the exhaust pipe runs right under the pan. Can I get the pan off without dropping that exhaust pipe? Pretty messy job usually (for me anyway) and I'd rather know ahead of time if I have to drop that pipe. 2019 4x4 with 5.3 and 6sp transmission.

When I did my 2016 suburban, I removed the transmission support mount, raised the transmission up slightly, wedged some 2x4’s between the exhaust and cab floor. This gave just enough clearance to remove the pan. Such a PITA but it worked.

Loosen the y-pipe bolts or use a big ole pry bar to pry the exhaust down and slide the pan out (you do risk damaging parts if the pry bar slips out while the pan is between though so be careful).

I have done my 2015 Yukon (8l90) twice and did not have to move or remove anything.

If you turn the front of the unbolted pan (front is front of car)toward the passenger side, it slides out without issue.

OP has a 6 speed.

I have seen a a block of wood used as a spacer. If I recall the truck was jacked up enough to fit block then lowered. This added a 2” - 4”, enough to maneuver around exhaust.
