I recently traded my 2009 BMW 335i with Premium Harmon Kardon for a 2007 Tahoe LTZ non/nav with Bose.

The truck is a creampuff and I love it, but I have noticed the factory bose system is completely inferior to my previous BMW HK system. When I turn up the Bose system more then half way it sounds distorted and buzzed. I have decided to remove the system and upgrade.

I recently bought a Pioneer AVH-X5600bhs to upgrade the stock headunit and need a little help figuring out the rest of the system.

Any suggestion for speakers replacements and amps. I am by no means an audio pro, but would like to have something similar to the sound of my BMW HK system. Nice clear Highs and optimal bass.

Also if I remove the bose system will I loose the factory chimes, etc.

Can I keep components of the Bose system and amp and add new speakers and a seperate 4 channel amp?

Any speaker and amp suggestions would also be welcomed. I am considering polk audio. Thanks

I replaced the speakers (Bose) in my Nali with some JBLs which were bought out by "Harmon Kardon". Just replaced the speakers them selves and it sounds tons better. I did add an amp and sub thou so it's a completely different sound. I got an extra set just in case. Well just in case did happen this week. I picked up a 2011 Yukon. I may not do a sub in that since it's the "family" vehicle. I am doing complete exhaust and using Cherry Bomb extreme muffler.

I went with Alpine 6-1/2" 2-Way Component Car Speakers Model: SPS-610C in the front and SPS-610 in the rear doors. They make speaker adapters and wire adapters so you don't have to cut the factory wires. I also upgraded my headunit with a Kenwood screen and added an amp and sub in the rear (DB Drive K9 10")

The factory system wasn't cutting it for me!
