Replacing factory radio w another from different tahoe

I am replacing my old and damaged factory radio in my 96 tahoe w another factory radio from a different but same yr model tahoe. The antitheft system will not allow use of thge radio (im assuming thats the problem since original cd player will work). Any ideas on what to do?

unless you have the unlock code, you must go to a dealer.
