I think the 1/4” might be a little large but close. I was looking around and saw people talking about 3/32”.
Another thought about the ac compressor, the clutch might still rotate freely, but the compressor still can be seized. Double check the operation when the compressor cycles.

Thanks for the help ill update the post after filling the compressor and getting another restrictor.
