I am trying to rest the avg fuel economy in the info pages on my 22 High Country. The owners manual says "Press the thumbwell to change the selected distance. Press and hold the thumb well while this display is active to rear The best fuel economy and the average the average fuel economy"
i have tried several times, spoke to the selling dealer several times, spoken to Chevrolet and drove into my local dealer all to no avail.
I have had no success. The fuel economy resets but the average does not.
The selling dealer said maybe was supposed tone that way.
Chevrolet said contact your dealer.
Two advisors at my local dealer tried for about 15 minutes and gave.
Can anyone reset their average fuel economy and how do you do it.

I believe the "Average" in that display (bar graph, with one side showing best ever, and one side showing average) is a rolling average of the last 25, 50, or 450 miles. Reset resets the best ever (green number), right? The Average will self calculate in the previous 25, 50, 450 miles, so in this sense, it is constantly resetting as you drive.

Now, you can reset the TRIP odometers and that will reset the fuel economy for that trip (I usually reset Trip 1 at every fuel fill up to get the average per tank), I have noticed it seems to be pretty accurate (matches miles driven/gallons added calculation I do manually).

i certainly don't understand why they would do it that way, but i do believe you are correct and i will ned to change my way of doing things and use the trip 1 or 2 more often.
As many here have said about many things paying 80k + and simple things are complicated and the dealers and the factory don't even know how things work.
Thanks for your help.

But, I still am not sure it resets the average...will try it when I go out to the parking lot this evening.

Great Thanks
Only option is "Reset Best" or "Distance". I don't see how to reset AVG in there...and it is not even clear to me if it is the AVG over the distance, or lifetime average. Seems more like lifetime to me. And, i confirmed the Fuel Economy displayed in the right side of the instrument cluster is the Average from this display...

Best spot for Fuel Economy Over a known distance seems to be Trip 1 or Trip 2....

Maybe I'm missing something, but why would you bother resetting the average for the 25/50/450 if it is constantly updating? Just check at the end of your trip for that mileage interval? If you don't like the intervals, just reset one of the two trip meters that also show average economy?
