Hey guys, this last weekend I took my tail light assembly off to paint them black. This is something I've done a few times before with no issues. When I reinstalled the assembly, I put the bulbs back into the light and turned to lock them in place place. After I screwed the Lights back on I checked to make sure all the lights were working properly and all were except the back up lights. This makes no sense to me seeing that nothing was ever unplugged, just removed from the housing. Does anyone have an idea of what might be going on?

The bulbs never touched the ground, they were just hanging there the whole time I worked on the lights

start simple. Replace one with a known good bulb. It possible that you have bad bulbs.

They may come back on after a few start cycles. I just changed the front fascia on my Escalade and after reinstalling the fog light/turn signal assemblies I checked the lights just to be sure. Sure enough the turn signal bulbs started acting up. One would not light up, then it worked but the other wouldn't, then both wouldn't turn on...after running the truck a couple times they worked just fine and no problems since.

On another note, back when I had my 08 Tahoe I swapped the tails for Denali tails, and every time I did this or switched back at least one bulb would burn out. So as others have said check the bulbs too.
