I honestly haven't searched much before asking. anyone got a pic of the mount the mirror goes on? thinking of replacing the stock mirror with one of those with built in dash and back up cam recoding. I asked if they had a mount for our trucks not just strap it over the one there now and they ask for a pic of the mount.

your mirror will have a single hex bit bolt that holds it on the mount, not sure of the size but it is probably a t-10, either tilt it down or remove the black plastic clip and then you can unscrew it and lift the mirror off

oh nice. so old school chevy type. that would be easy.

my c6 of course has to be a hassle with some weird special twisting motion. I'll pop the yukon off and get a pic for them. thinking about a dash cam for both.

anyone have any hands on with the wolf box 900g pro?

i have seen some of those "camera" mirrors, to me personally it is very weird and distracting, like having a tv in your mirror it is not "true view" like looking in a real mirror. maybe it just takes some getting used to. Even driving being behind a corvette with one on you can see it is on and looks like a tv

the nice thing is you just turn it off and it's a normal mirror but it's still recording. so you don't have to use it as a video feed all the time.

we have a newer Ford truck at work that has the back up cam in the mirror. you can't tell till you put it in reverse and half of it becomes the monitor. honestly it's the correct place for a cam to be if you're used to backing up with mirrors. looking down at a dash radio just takes you eyes off mirrors.

I'm probably going to buy it thru Amazon. so if I don't like it, I'll just return it. but it seems pretty seamless way to add front and back dash cam. my volt just got backed into a few days ago in a target parking lot. older lady was like oops, I guess I should have looked where I was backing. Lucky I was sitting in the car or she would have probably just driven away. she wasn't even sure she hit something. lead me to wanting a cam. these supposedly are impact triggered while off too.

I'll let you know if I get one. Will I'm going to get one. I just gotta get it installed. these days it's easier to buy things than find time to install haha.

as I understand it. you can set it for the screen to come on or not. don't even have to wire it to the Reverse lights if you don't want to have switch in Rev. but comes with good front cam built in and you can wire the rear if you want or not. it's kinda up to what you want but they also have cheaper models if you just want front recoding and no screen stuff.

I prefer a clean mirror..... if there is a sudden decision , i don't have time to decipher what I see in the mirror.
But if you can shut off the rear view cam picture, while driving forward, that's better.
yep i agree I need to know where something or some one is when making a split second decision and not have to think about if my view is "wide" view or real view, near/far, etc

as far backing up I only use the camera view for final approach or to see if it there is some idiot standing directly behind me

Not to worry.... that 'idiot standing behind you' won't cause a dent..... :p
