New needles have been installed. I am not a fan for the leds. They focus too much light in one place. I am going to try a different style led maybe.. the blue incandescent turn green with age.

Hey kc9dre, what truck do you have?
I have a 2003 yukon.

They have a face that has the symbols blacked out as well. Almost got that one instead but went this way with it. And the Trans gauge works without needing it programmed.

then use diffusers on the leds
I may have to look into that just how close to the face they sit seems to be part of the issue. Still have 4 out of the 9 that aren't lighting up was 3 so remounting one took another one out.

I am wanting to do something with the face trim now. But the brakes took a toll on the cash flow. Will see what I come up with for that I suppose.

Quick question: Is there anyway to change the lights without taking the needles off? Really don't want to mess with those again... Looks great BTW!

The lights are under the face and there is a plastic light guide under that then you get to the lights. So unfortunately yes. However mark them with painters tape with the needles at full counterclockwise makes easy to peel off once done.
