Thanks bud, might have to check it out next time im at the store

NP. It's about a $80-100 job whatever way you go about it, if you wanna do it right. I got lucky and got the whole Herculiner kit on sale for $70, then I bought 3 cans of Rustoleom to hit those spots you can't get with a roller or brush.

For my prep work I power washed everything real good underneath to get all the dirt and stuff and then I sanded all the rust off as good as I could. You should have seen the pile of dirt and rust when I was done, it was huge.

Wow that's a GREAT deal. You're so lucky it seems like you get good ass deals on everything lol. 12 cans should be perfect too.

On base we have an auto skills shop with a lift and 3,000 PSI pressure washer. 3,000PSI hot water is how I got mine. For what I couldn't reach with water I used a rust and paint stripper on a drill. Worked well for the dried on stuff I had.

i'm jealous of the guys with access to a lift.

Ya should be jealous. Here on base we have a auto skills shop where we can do our own work. With something like 48 spots a third of them with lifts. Electrical and air hook ups at each. And all the tools you could ever need, minus welders. And ASE certified staff to advise us or provide a second set of hands. Parts supplier, gas station, auto audio/electronics store, and a service garage across the street. It's my favorite corner of the base.

i never thought to line it with that stuff. but i also redid my frame due to rust and just looked crappy. and i went out looking for paint. and found this stuff that you can either spray on if you have a gun. or brush on. it protects from rust grime whatever. and it looks good too. it says it can be hit with hammer or what ever and it wont chip or scratch. i mean i havn't really done anything major with it that would chipp or scratch it. but i have hit it with hammer and it did what it said. it's called "por 15" it comes in a few colors. but it is a really big process cause you have to either sand blast or grind your frame to bare metal. then spray this acid stuff on it. wait 20 minutes spray it again wait twenty minutes. then wippe down with paint thiner. wait awhile then spray just plain water and make sure all of the stuff is off. do that afew times. by then youve already done an hour. then you have to brush the stuff on. and the paint takes three hours to dry. not to mention 3 coats.
soo. it is very timely.
lemme know what the stuff you were gonna use looks like when done.
