What is best to clean or polish chrome rims? I have been very busy the last few months and I neglected to wash the Tahoe for about 3 months.:emotions122: Yesterday I found some time and cleaned her up however the rims appear stained. I guess the dirt and heat really baked the grime in. I need something to clean the wheels and hopefully get them back to where they were. Should I try to claybar?

I use a meguirs cleaner can't remember the name but it is a liquid chrome polish. Works good with minimal polishing.

Eagle One chrome wheel cleaner, it says "for a mirror like finish" on the bottle and they don't joke around

Cobra,

If it's really just baked on dirt and grime, I know a thing or two about cleaning chrome. Not an expert on the polishing side, but getting the dirt, brake dust, etc. off....

There's a couple of pretty good spray on degreasers and grime removers that I've found. First is easy to find at Walmart or Lowe's: Krud Kutter. It works pretty good and seems mild on finishes. Spray on, let sit for a short period, then wash off with water or soapy water. Zep is another, but that one's harsh. Don't let it sit, spray on and rinse pretty much immediately.

Just a couple of ideas.

I use Turtle Wax chrome polish. Mild buffing by hand is needed, but it shines up amazingly well. Can't really compare it to anything else since it's the only one I've used, though.

+1 on Turtle Wax chrome wheel polish. Use any wheel cleaner, then the chrome polish, then an ammonia free glass cleaner, and bammm. Wheels glisten.:party33: on the hard to reach areas i use the buff ball or dremel with a polish bit. Gets in there real good.

Used Meguir's polishing compound...
Than finished with Mothers carnuba wax...

Shine was perfect...
