Kinda stumped, ordered Bosal catalytic converters from rock auto, but when it showed up, they sent magnaflow stainless steel cats... paid Bosal price which was $378, on magnaflows website it runs $648! Only problem is I’ve heard bad things about magnaflows cat fitment, anyone had this issue or have issues with the magnaflow cats?? After googling It seems that magnaflow bought Bosal?

Might try and contact them via [email protected] and see what they say about the substitution. Haven’t heard much bad about magnaflow stuff.

as far as a direct replacement cats you will most likely always find someone who wants to complain about it. the factory exhaust will generally never be exactly where it was when it was new. heating and cooling cycles will gradually shift manifolds and y pipes slightly over the years. so y pipes will almost never be a simple unbolt the old ones and toss in the new ones. the problem lies with 50/50 your installation and the quality of the parts and bends. the y pipe may need to be "assisted" into proper position then start the vehicle and let the exhaust get about as hot as its going to get and retighten the manifold to pipe clamps. heat cycling the new exhaust and retighten may have to be done more than once especially on the donut style manifold flanges. the heat cycling and tightening will help seat the gaskets thoroughly. lastly if the manifold flange studs look questionable stop there and go to a garage unless your ready for a lengthy battle. stripping or breaking manifold studs is very common.
