Finished the new fuel pump installation and got everything buttoned-up. Problem resolved! In fact, it runs even better than it did before. Needless to say, it appears that Ohio’s salt and brine trucks will have one final winter to complete their assault on this ole truck.

Thank you again to all who contributred.

I worked on a friend's Tahoe from West Virginia a few times. His dad drove it to the coal mine everyday and never washed it. It looked very similar to this underneath. Ran like a champ but was hell to work on. Holy frame and all. Every time I had it in my shop the floor looked like the inside of his fuel pump/tank. Never thought a concrete would look like "rust colored gravel"

I hear ya. it’s hell everytime you bump into something while lying underneath it to do any work. You always have to be prepared for showers of salt, dirt and rust in your eye and ears. And of course, be sure to sweep the garage floor afterwards…. Everytime that I work on it I put a dustpan full of silverado in my trash can. Nothing really that you can do to stop it in this type of environment.

That rusty truck saves you $800/month (compared to a new truck)?

I think it’s beautiful
